About Anger Management

How Exercise Can Help Your Control Anger

The wave of health consciousness sweeping across the country has led to some people adopting exercise regimens that lead them on into a life of health. Exercise is good for many reasons. Exercise helps to whittle away excess fat and give you a trim looking body that keeps your admirers coming in droves.

Exercise also helps to keep you in constant health because it strengthens your heart and increases the flow of oxygen in your body. So, how does exercise help you control your anger? Exercise is an excellent anger management tool for three main reasons --

• Endomorphs: Consistent exercise not only gives you a perfectly shaped body, it also serves as a mood enhancer. Most people who exercise constantly are always on a natural high because of the release of endomorphs. In layman’s terms, endomorphs are ‘happy cells’. As the name implies, the release of these happy cells help to release the dark cloud hanging over your head. When you feel anger trying to press out the joy and happiness in you, press it out by engaging in a favorite exercise regimen. If walking is what does it for you, then walk. If skipping helps you to get out of the dark mood, then skip. After rigorous exercise, you will feel less angry and more in control.

• Tolerance levels: Exercise increases your tolerance levels because it puts you on a high that is quite hard to come down from. In other words, no body will bring you down that quickly when you exercise.

• Diffuse: Exercise is a medium of diffusion. Diffusion in anger management is the refocusing of energies. When you exercise, you dilute the intensity of your anger and generally feel more in control because your anger lessens. Exercise has helped many people who have anger issues. If you have been living a sedentary lifestyle, your tolerance levels will obviously be low. It’s not too late to start exercising straight away and get control over those errant angry emotions.
